How does landlord verification work?▾

We verify ownership through NYC ACRIS property records and a government-issued ID check. Verified landlords receive a trust badge on all listings.

Are there broker fees?▾

Never. PropertyOwnersNYC connects renters directly with small landlords. There are no broker fees on any listing.

Can I list a basement apartment?▾

Yes, if it has proper ATR certification or an updated Certificate of Occupancy under Local Laws 126/127. See our ADU & Basement Guide for details.

Do you accept housing vouchers?▾

Many landlords on our platform accept CityFHEPS and Section 8 vouchers. Use the "Accepts Vouchers" filter when searching.

How do I apply for a listing?▾

Click "Apply Now" on any listing page. You'll submit basic info and documents directly to the landlord — no application fees.

Is it free to list my property?▾

Yes. Listing is completely free for verified small landlords. We make money from optional premium tools like rent collection.
